Goya Book against the death penalty

Fecha_11/06/2013

On the occasion of the 5th World Congress against the Death Penalty in Madrid – to be held in the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts – a day-long conference was organised to discuss issues related to the abolition of capital punishment.

The Academy’s proud contribution to this conference is the pioneering and profound discourse of Francisco de Goya. In many of his drawings – produced and preserved at the National Chalcography department of the Academy – this brilliant artist presented a clear and committed position against cruelty and the death penalty.

A book printed by Artes Gráficas Palermo has been published for this conference, with reproductions of the work of the great Francisco de Goya.
