Inauguration of the Pissarro exhibition at the Thyssen Museum

Fecha_04/06/2013

The first monographic exhibition in Spain of the work of the Impressionist painter Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) – an essential figure within Impressionism. With over 70 works, this exhibition seeks to restore the artist’s reputation, presenting him as one of the great pioneers of modern art. The show focuses on landscapes – a genre that dominates his production – by presenting in chronological order the places where Pissarro lived and painted.

The exhibition, which was curated by Guillermo Solana, will later appear at the CaixaForum building in Barcelona.

Artes Gráficas Palermo printed the original “Cartas 1883-1903” (Letters 1883-1903) book at its workshops. The book contains a selection of fifty-seven letters from Camille Pissarro’s extensive correspondence with his firstborn son Lucien – also a painter.

Exhibition period: From 04-06-2013 until 15-09-2013
